After creating a new Stripe or PayPal account or linking an existing one, you may see that your account is in “Pending” status. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to start fundraising until your account is in “Connected” status.
When your account status is Pending, your account is still being reviewed or verified. This can occur when:
- Your Stripe/PayPal account is not fully set up
- Your Stripe/PayPal account requires activation
- Your information, such as ID documentation, nonprofit discount, payment schedule, etc., is being confirmed
Find Your Account Status
You can determine the status of your payment processing account within your DoJiggy account. To do so, simply follow the steps below.
- Click Payment Processing in the left menu of your account.
- Look for the highlighted areas in the screenshot below.
Troubleshooting
You can take several steps to help move your payment processing account status from “Pending” to “Connected.”
1. As a first step, try to reconnect your payment processing account. To do so, click LINK A DIFFERENT ACCOUNT and reselect your account.
This step will resolve the issue for many organizations. If your account remains in “Pending” status, move on to step two.
2. Confirm that you are using the correct email address. Your Stripe/PayPal account status will not move to “Connected” if you are using two different email addresses.
3. Confirm that you are linking the correct Stripe/PayPal account. If you have more than one Stripe account under an email address, you could have the wrong one attached.
4. Confirm that your Stripe/PayPal account is “activated”. If you’re using an existing account, you won’t be able to accept payments until your account is “activated.”
Contact Stripe or PayPal
If your Stripe/PayPal account is new, the verification process can take a few days. Check after that time to see if your account status has changed to Connected. If it’s still Pending and none of the troubleshooting tips work, contact Stripe or PayPal to see if there are any other steps you need to take. You can use the following template in your message:
