Learn what an Athon activity is, how they work and how to add them to your fundraising campaign.
How units (or activities) work
Athon participants will complete and log units performed for a specific activity. For example, the activity for a “jog-a-thon” would be “jogging” and participants might log “miles” or “laps”.
Units for an Athon event are determined by the administrator. You can have one unit of activity or as many as you like. However, participants can only register to participate in one activity.
Adding Activities
- Go to Campaigns in the left menu.
- If you have chosen list view, click on the Title of the Campaign. If you have chosen grid view, click on the Campaign image.
- Click Campaign Setup*.
- From the A-Thon card click Create an activity
- Fill in the form, then click Save
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save again.
Things to consider
- Donors cannot pay by checks for per unit pledges because there isn’t a way to know how much the donor would be charged until after the campaign is finalized. Check payments can still be accepted for flat-donations on Athon campaigns.
- Ranking for participant activities are found on the Participant tab of your fundraiser
- Prizes and leaderboards are only for an amount raised and NOT the number of units achieved. There is an activity badge on participant pages, however, that shows units completed.
Determine total units completed by the participant
To see a summary of the total units completed by any participant, go to Campaigns and click the View Participants tab.
You can also click the EXPORT link at the bottom of the page for a complete report of all participants and activities. This report can be used to tally all activity and award prizes.
* Note: This terminology may be different depending on your Campaign settings.
