When creating your Campaign, a default link will be assigned for all your Campaign and donation pages. The default website address, or URL will look like this: https://go.dojiggy.io/ab123a where ‘go’ is a subdomain of the domain dojiggy.io, and the /ab123a is the default link to your fundraising Campaign.
This article explains how to forward a domain you already own to your fundraising Campaign. If you want to create a Personal Domain or a Custom Domain, please see this article: Set up a custom domain for your DoJiggy account
For every Campaign, on the Page Design page, you will have the option to choose your own custom link for your event. We recommend using a short name that is specific to your fundraiser. This replaces the ab123a where the URL was https://go.dojiggy.io/ab123a, could be something like https://go.dojiggy.io/funrun
How to set up Domain forwarding for your Campaign
You can use a different URL for a specific Campaign by setting up a custom domain, like mycampaign.org or anything you’d like. This is done via a process called domain forwarding.
This is different from your Organization’s custom domain. An Campaign custom domain allows you to set a “one-off” custom domain for a single fundraising Campaign only. If you’re looking instead to set up a custom domain for your organization’s DoJiggy account, read this article.
1. Register a custom domain name
If you already own a domain name that you’d like to use for your DoJiggy account, skip to step 2.
Select a domain provider, such as DoJiggy or GoDaddy, and they will guide you through the process of finding a domain name and registering your domain. Pick one you’d like to use and register your custom domain name with them.
NOTE: We will finish the remaining steps if you purchase the domain name through DoJiggy.
2. Set up a URL forward
Once you have a registered domain, you’ll need to set up a URL forward. A URL forward makes it so that when someone types in your custom URL, it automatically forwards them to your DoJiggy Campaign.
NOTE: You’ll need to know your DoJiggy’s Campaign URL for the next step. If you don’t know your Campaign URL, just open your Campaign page on DoJiggy and copy the link in your address bar.
We’ve compiled a list of help articles on how to set up a URL forward for popular domain hosting services:
If your domain provider isn’t listed above, just do a Google search for “[domain provider name] domain forwarding” where you replace “[domain provider name]” with the name of your domain provider, such as GoDaddy. You should be able to find an easy help article from their site on how to complete the process.
3. Verify that your Campaign custom domain is working
Once you’ve completed step 2, you can verify that everything is working correctly by typing your custom domain into your browser’s address bar and navigating to it.
You’re all done if you see your DoJiggy Campaign page after doing so!
