Customize the domain used in links to your fundraising pages to match your organization’s brand.
How to set up a Personal Domain (subdomain of .dojiggy.io)
Create a subdomain for your account
- Click on Settings -> Branding from the main menu on the left.
- Enable Customize the domain for your account.
- Choose the option titled Use a subdomain of dojiggy.io.
- Enter a subdomain you’d like to use for your account (i.e. myorganization.dojiggy.io).
- Click Validate subdomain.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Profile page and click Save again.
That’s it, nothing else is necessary. Your domain for your account is now https://myorganization.dojiggy.io, where myorganization is whatever you set in the subdomain.
IMPORTANT: Once you have set up a Personal Domain, you should log into your administration area with this domain instead of https://go.dojiggy.io. Login at https://myorganization.dojiggy.io/account.
Using a Custom Domain
When using the setup above, your organization’s personalized domain will be myorganization.dojiggy.io. If you do not want to use the .dojiggy.io domain name, you will need to purchase and maintain a custom domain.
What are the fees for a Custom Domain?
First, you must purchase the Custom Domain that you want to use. You can purchase that through DoJiggy, GoDaddy, or any other registration company.
A Custom Domain can be added to your account for $199 annually. This fee covers the SSL Certificate and the infrastructure costs needed to get your custom domain securely up and running.
Some organizations use domain forwarding for their Campaigns. Instead of branding the organization at the account level, they forward a domain they own to the fundraising Campaign. There is no cost for domain forwarding, and this option does not require a private SSL purchase.
To use this option, you will be required to purchase an SSL Certificate from DoJiggy, we cannot use third-party SSL Certificates.
Before you begin
Ensure that you already own a domain name and have access to your domain provider’s management portal.
Select a domain provider, such as DoJiggy or GoDaddy, and they will guide you through the process of finding a domain name and registering your domain. Pick one you’d like to use and register your custom domain name with them.
NOTE: We will finish the remaining steps if you purchase the domain name through DoJiggy.
If you are a GoDaddy client and are not comfortable making these changes, you can delegate access to our support team to make these changes for you. How can I Invite DoJiggy Tech Support to access my GoDaddy account?
Step 1. Create a subdomain for your account
- Click on Settings -> Branding in the left menu.
- Enable Customize the domain for your account.
- Choose the option Use a custom domain that you already own.
- Then, enter a subdomain you’d like to use for your account (i.e. myorganization.dojiggy.io).
- Click Validate subdomain
Step 2. Add a CNAME Record
Once you have a registered domain, you’ll need to add a CNAME record to your domain’s DNS records. Here’s how:
- Go to the DNS record section of GoDaddy or the portal through which you registered your custom domain.
- Choose to add a new record to your DNS settings, and select CNAME as the record type.
- In the host field, enter a subdomain of your domain. For example, if the domain you registered is myorganization.com, you can enter donate.myorganization.com for host, where “donate” can be any word you choose (e.g. “support,” “give,” “go,” etc. but NOT “www”).
- For the destination field, enter the DoJiggy subdomain you created in step 1 (i.e., donate.dojiggy.io).
If you still need help, we’ve compiled a list of help articles on adding a CNAME record for popular domain hosting services. Click the one for the provider you used to register your custom domain:
If you have a different domain provider, just do an online search for “[Domain Provider Name] CNAME record”.
Step 3. Enter your new custom domain in DoJiggy
- Once your new custom domain name (CNAME) is created and registered, go back to Settings -> Branding.
- Find the field “After configuring your domain, enter the domain name here.”
- Click Validate custom domain.
- Make sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit Save one more time.
IMPORTANT: Once you have set up a custom domain, you must log into your administration area with this domain instead of https://go.dojiggy.io. Login at https://your.domain.com/account.
Step 4. Secure your custom domain with SSL
If you have not done this already, the final step of your custom domain setup is to secure the domain by installing an SSL Certificate. This ensures your custom domain will appear secure on all browsers. Without this last step, your website will not be readily accessible, and users will get an error when accessing it.
We will complete this last step only after you purchase the $199 SSL certificate. You may also contact us by emailing support@dojiggy.com.
Good To Know
- You must use a subdomain and can not use the base domain (e.g., “myorganization.org”)
- It is not possible to use “www” for the subdomain (e.g., “www.myorganization.org”) as the custom domain for your organization.
- Your Campaign URL should be similar to “donate.myorganization.org/my-campaign-page.”
