Each of our activity types provides a unique way for donors to engage with your organization. Activity types can be used together to create a unique fundraising Campaign.
NOTE: DoJiggy cannot be used to fundraise for personal causes. DoJiggy is a fundraising platform for nonprofits and other charities only.
Raffles
Raffles are an activity type in which donors purchase entries into a drawing for a chance to win a prize. Some additional facts about raffles include:
- Raffles are considered gambling by the IRS and CRA and are regulated as such. Check your eligibility to run a raffle.
- Organizations can set up their raffle so that donors either purchase entries for a chance to win any of the prizes listed or purchase entries to win a specific prize listed.
- Raffle winners can be drawn randomly by the platform or manually by the organization.
- Tickets to the raffle can be sold online and in-person, with in-person tickets being added manually into the drawing.
- Campaign duration can be up to 5 years.

Sweepstakes
Sweepstakes are a campaign type in which donors purchase entries into a drawing or enter for free for a chance to win a prize. Some additional facts about sweepstakes include:
- Sweepstakes are not considered gambling by the IRS because there is a requirement for free entry. Read the article below for more information.
- Donors can purchase entries into the drawing but must be given the option to enter for free.
- One free entry per unique email address is allowed, and DoJiggy takes care of entering all free entries.
- Sweepstakes must have official rules. These official rules are generated automatically during campaign set-up and can be edited by DoJiggy to include specific eligibility requirements.
- The DoJiggy system must draw the winner randomly to comply with sweepstakes regulations; manual drawing is not permitted.

Raffles and Sweepstakes: What’s the difference?
Auctions
Auctions are an activity type in which donors place bids on items, and the highest bidder wins the item. Some additional facts about auctions include:
- Organizations can choose between an English (traditional) auction or a Proxy (E-bay style) auction based on the needs of their organization and their donors.
- When a donor is outbid, they are notified by email and text (if enabled and they select this option).
- The winning bidder’s credit card is automatically charged at the end of the auction.
- When organizations add the fair market value of an item, the winner’s notification email can be used as a tax receipt.
- DoJiggy creates a unique link for each auction item to replace cumbersome bid sheets.
- Campaign duration can be up to 1 year unless combined with another activity type, then the duration can be up to 5 years.

Athons
Athons are an activity type in which individuals ask donors to contribute an amount based on an activity or unit of effort performed. A common example is a school walk-a-thon, where students get pledges by the lap. Some additional facts about DoJiggy-a-thons include:
- Organizations can select one or multiple activities for their Athons.
- A-thons can include one participant or many.
- Donation types accepted for these events can include one-time donations or per unit of activity donations.
- Campaign duration can be up to 1 year unless combined with another activity type, then the duration can be up to 5 years.

Sales or Simple Stores
Sales are an activity type in which organizations sell items to benefit their organization. Some additional facts about sales include:
- Organizations can include an unlimited number of items in their sale.
- Organizations can add items with different variations. (ex. Color, size, style).
- Simple Stores can be added to other activities to support sponsorship sales.
- Campaign duration can be up to 5 years.

Crowdfunding
Crowdfunding is an activity type in which organizations ask donors to contribute towards a specific cause or item. Most walk/run/ride events are run as P2P crowdfunding activities. Some additional facts about crowdfunding include:
- Crowdfunding activities can accept one-time donations or recurring donations.
- Organizations can add merchandise or perks for specific donation levels. When adding perks, your donors will be directed towards them, though they can certainly donate at any level. For this reason, many organizations do not use perks or use only virtual perks such as ‘$100 – Feeds a family of 4 for the week’.
- Campaign duration can be up to 5 years.

Ticketing
Ticketing allows donors to purchase Tickets for an in-person or virtual Event such as (but not limited to) a gala, festival, or charity livestream.
Golf & Event Ticketing: What You Need to Know
- Donors can easily go online and purchase Tickets from your Campaign Page.
- You can sell individual Tickets, allow donors to purchase multiple Tickets at a time in Packages, or both.
- You can also sell a limited number of Tickets or offer certain ticket types for a limited time.
- Attendees can be checked in online.
- Livestreaming is available with Unlimited or Custom pricing.
- If you’re running a Livestream, you can require donors to purchase Tickets to access it.
Peer-to-Peer
Peer-to-Peer is not a stand-alone Activity, but can be added to any Activity except for Auctions. Peer-to-Peer allows individuals and groups to participate in the fundraising Campaign and help promote the fundraiser.
What is Peer-to-Peer Fundraising?
- You can allow supporters to sign up as individuals, teams, or both.
- Each participant or team receives their own fundraising page to share with family and friends through social media, text, or email.
- Offer prizes and display leaderboards to foster friendly competition and incentivize participants.
