Today we’re releasing new functionality to make setup easier, faster, and more intuitive for event administrators.
Event vs. Campaign Setup
When setting up an Campaign, the first thing you’ll be asked is whether you’re setting up an Event or a Campaign.
- Events happen at a specific day and time, like a charity gala or Livestream. They can be live and in-person, virtual, or hybrid in nature. If people need to buy a ticket and administrators need to get attendance details, your Campaign is likely an event.
- You should choose Campaign for ongoing fundraising activities that people can participate in whenever they like (but you will still determine a start and an end date). Examples of campaigns include fundraising raffles, online auctions, crowdfunding campaigns such as walk-a-thons and virtual walks, and sales (via our Simple Stores).
Ticketing When and Where You Need It
You now have the option to turn on event ticketing as soon as you begin setting up your Events.
This makes your task of setting up fundraising activities easier because you see relevant options exactly when and where you need them. Ticketing is only available for Events – not Campaigns.
Unique Activity Start Dates
With this new release, administrators can configure unique start dates for each of your fundraising activities. For example, you may wish to publish a crowdfunding campaign and start accepting donations right away, while promoting a raffle that will happen later.
Crowdfunding with/without Perks
Administrators can now select to activate crowdfunding perks from the Basics page. As well, crowdfunding campaigns without perks can be managed along with Sales and other integrated activities.
Easier General Donations
The general donation button now appears alongside your other fundraising activities. It’s the same functionality but simplifies the process for those who only want to donate.
We’ve also added a new Start and End date for general donations. This new functionality will allow Campaigns with Flat Donations (except solo Crowdfunding Campaigns without Perks) to specify any timeframe in which their supporters can make donations to their Campaign – before or after their other Activities end.
The Start Date will appear if the organizer decides to set different dates for all activities in the Basics section. Alternatively, if the organizer indicates that all Activities will start at the same time, then the Start Date will not appear as General Donations will begin in tandem with the other Activities.
