Learn how tracking progress works and which donations and payment types are reflected in your Campaign fundraising thermometer.
Set a Campaign Goal
To activate the thermometer you must first set a fundraising goal from the Campaign setup on the Page Design page in the setup timeline. Does your Campaign have a fundraising goal?. If the Campaign does not have a goal, no thermometer will be displayed.
In order for funds to show on the thermometer, you must have raised at least 1% of your fundraising goal. For example, with a goal of $50,000, you must first collect $500 before any funds will show on the thermometer.
Overall vs Recurring Goals
If you select the first option for an Campaign fundraising goal, all completed credit card and check donations will show on the thermometer.
If you select the second option for a recurring goal, then only completed credit card and check donation processed during that period will be reflected on the thermometer.
Check Payments
You can choose to show unpaid check transactions in the thermometer from the Page Design page in the Event Setup.
The default setting is off. When off, checks that are not marked as received will not show in the thermometer. Learn how to Mark Check Donations as Received
The unpaid check amount credited to a participant will be added to the participant amount raised and thermometer.
However, the donor info will not be on their list until the check is marked as received. Because for reporting purposes, the donation has not been received.
Payment Types Not Included
The following payment types will not appear in your fundraising thermometer totals:
- Declined credit card orders will not show.
- Per unit Athon pledges that are marked as TBD.
Registration Fees
You can choose to have the Registration Fees show in the Thermometers or not. The default setting is to show registration fees. Some organization choose not to include registration fees in the overall, participant or team thermometers. This is managed in one setting.
Hide the Registration Fees
To Hide the Registration fees, click Campaign Setup*, then click Options in the Timeline. Expand the Peer-to-Peer options, then Uncheck “Include registration fees in your fundraiser’s total amount raised.”
