Can I add items to an existing order? You would like to add items to an existing order and charge your supporter. Perhaps someone has decided to purchase additional items, or you are at a live event and wish to charge the constituent for items.
Answer
To add items to an existing order, follow these steps.
Adding Items
- Go to Reports->Orders and click on the order number in question to open the Order Details.
- Scroll down to the Add Items section.
- In the Participant Name box, verify that the correct name is there. If you wish to add a product and associate it with a different person, do the following
- Click the Magnifying Glass icon. A pop-up window will open.
- Type in the First OR Last name and click search.
- Click on the correct name in the search results.
- Select the Product you wish to add, along with the quantity, and click the green Add button.
The order will be updated and shown as Incomplete for any additional amount of items added.
Charging the Order
Depending on your payment processor and settings you may have a credit card on file for the constituent. If this option is available you will see the Charge button at the top of the Order Details page. If the Charge button is not available you can email a payment retry link to request payment.
Email Payment Retry Link
To send a Payment Retry Link to the customer, which sends an email allowing them to enter their payment details and resubmit.
- Go to Reports->Orders and click on the order in question.
- At the top of this screen, Click the Email Payment Retry... button.
- Verify the subject line and the email address.
- Edit the page body as necessary.
- Click the Send button.
Charge Button
If your payment processor allows cards to be stored. Do the following.
- Go to Reports->Orders and click on the order in question.
- At the top of this screen, you will see a Charge button.
- Click the button, confirm/edit payment details, and press Charge.
- Once the order has been successfully processed, the Order Status will be changed to Complete.
Refund
If the amount due is a negative value, you may consider making a Refund.
